Transmission Maintenance Manager

To manage the operations and maintenance of the cooperative's transmission assets, through the direct supervision of assigned personnel and the interaction with supporting departments and Member representatives. To develop and implement an effective and well-documented maintenance program that improves the availability and reliability of the power delivery system.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
The minimum requirements of knowledge and previous experience necessary for an individual to be considered for this position.

o 10 years' experience in the electric utility industry, preferably to include experience as a journeyman lineman, 5 years related management experience and/or a BS Degree in Engineering or related field
o Extensive knowledge in the design and maintenance of high voltage power transmission assets. With at least four years practical experience of either maintenance planning and scheduling for or direct construction and maintenance of such assets.
o Sound knowledge of safe line maintenance practices and procedures.
o Knowledge of NERC reliability standards associated with transmission maintenance, operations and vegetation management.
o Familiarity with data processing, Global Information System software, Global Positioning systems, computer work order management systems, engineering drawings and job take off.
o Familiar with Arizona State, Federal and private land use rights and privileges.
o Extensive knowledge of operation of power delivery system, including switching.
o Working knowledge of substation apparatus maintenance and metering, relaying and communication maintenance.
o Any equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience can be substituted for requirements listed above.
ESSENTIAL AND MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
The major activities for which this position is held accountable.
o Supervise and direct the transmission maintenance crews in the analysis of maintenance problems and preplanning/scheduling of preventative and corrective maintenance programs.
o Maintain an effective procedure for execution of maintenance work, including live-line bare-hand work procedures and equipment.
o Provide safety training and investigate emergency conditions.
o Interact with Environmental and Land Services personnel and Member and neighboring utilities personnel to ensure O&M needs are being fulfilled.
o Be subject matter expert on applicable NERC reliability standards.
o Provide accurate oral and written communication.
o Process payroll and expense statements.
o Manage and optimize renewal and replacement projects.
o Comply with all environmental regulatory requirements.
o Supervise work of craft employees during periods of absence of their normal supervisor and for weekend standby and call outs.
o Develop specifications and Requests for Proposals for Contracted Maintenance work.
o Oversee maintenance performed by outside contractors.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
