Accountant

Accountant
Provide support for the Controller Area and any other department needing financial reporting and data utilizing various report writing tools. Prepare journal entry and process documentation. Be an integral part of monthly close process, daily accounting needs, and assist Controller as needed. Support implementation of new business systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation & analysis of manufacturing cost sheets, and prepare and enter journal entries.
  • Recognition of expenses for departments / plants.
  • Reasonableness testing of expenses, utilities, raw materials.
  • Written comments & explanations of variances completed monthly for management.
  • Maintain fixed asset system, & prepare property tax returns.
  • Calculate monthly depreciation, and additions & deletions to fixed assets.
  • Administer Capital Projects spending & forecasting.
  • Assist in preparation of the annual budget and monthly forecasts.
  • Work directly with department & plant managers to define expense budgets by department & plant.
  • Participate in reporting and monitoring the budget throughout the year.
  • Participate in the independent financial audit.
  • Preparation of financial statements and footnotes for Annual Report.
  • Provide detailed back-up for statements and footnotes as required by audit staff.
  • Manage Company Credit cards, review and code expenses, verify receipts
  • Operates MAS accounting software
  • Assists with MAS and Tabware data management including writing Crystal and Query writer Reports for other employees
  • Key role in the selection and implementation of a new ERP system including working toward paperless processes
  • Conducts 1099 reporting, acts as Certified Information Reporting Specialist
  • Monitors, reports and pays Sales & Use tax: review purchases and work with vendors to assess taxability on purchases
  • Creates quarterly AZ fuel tax refund reporting
  • Review and posting of journal entries as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Accounting; or equivalent, experience with Microsoft Office professional Suite skills, exposure / utilization of financial software packages. Experience with MAS 500 and Tabware,
  • Bachelors or higher degree in accounting or finance preferred.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, including the ability to manage and prioritize tasks, and use initiative and flexibility to meet competing deadlines.
  • Five (5+) years of experience in public accounting or five (5+) years of experience in a similar or related role.
  • Demonstrated well developed communication skills including verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Demonstrated analytical and interpretive skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare written and financial reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow and utilize accounting/financial software.
  • Successful experience working with middle and senior management.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform detailed cost accounting in a manufacturing setting.
  • Confirmed experience in A /R, accounts reconciliation, & budget development
    Overall Work Environment
    Standard office environment, with significant time on computers and keyboards. Occasional visits to operating plant areas. ERP solution and implementation in new term.

    The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
